Banned Books Week
Sunday, September 18 to Saturday, September 24
Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Check out our banned books display this week to find a selection of books that have been, or attempted to be, censored in schools and libraries across the county. Then follow the Library on social media to find ways to fight book censorship.
Books encourage boundless exploration and allow readers to spread their wings. Stories give flight to new ideas and perspectives. Reading- especially books that set us free- expands our worldview. Censorship, on the other hand, locks away our freedom and divides us from humanity in our own cage. CLICK HERE to learn more about Banned Books Week.
Face masks are encouraged inside the Library.
