History of the Huron Fire Department

In recognition of Fire Prevention Month, the Huron Historical Society presents “From Bucket Brigades to Sophisticated Fire Apparatus: A History of the Men and Women of the Huron Fire Department”, Thursday, October 30 at 6:00 p.m. at the Huron Public Library. The documentary explores the beginnings and evolution of Huron’s fire department with highlights including the history of the beloved Blue Goose fire truck, the transition from a volunteer to full-time fire department, the first and only four women volunteer EMTs, and videos and photos of Huron fires and disasters. The documentary features interviews with (in order of appearance):
